What We Tried
During our recent visit, we were treated to a menu that showcased the best of British cuisine with a creative twist. Here’s a taste of what we indulged in:
Nibbles
Marinated nocellara olives 🫒: These bright, buttery olives were the perfect way to start the meal.
Sourdough bread with salted butter 🥖: Freshly baked and beautifully paired with creamy salted butter. Simple, yet satisfying.
Starters
Butternut Squash Soup 🍲: Creamy and rich, with a hint of crystallized ginger and a garnish of crunchy pumpkin seeds. It’s a warm, comforting choice, perfect for chilly Oxford evenings.
Miso-braised celeriac 🌿: Salad served with walnuts, chicory, and cooked apple, this dish brought a refreshing blend of textures and flavours.
Main Courses
Roasted cauliflower 🌰: Paired with cashew hummus, Swiss chard choucroute, and pickled fig, this vegetarian dish was an explosion of earthy, nutty, and tangy flavours.
Harissa-braised butternut squash 🌶️: A standout dish with chickpeas, preserved lemon, and wasabi sprouts. The harissa added a delightful warmth without overwhelming the palate.
Dessert
Date and toffee pudding 🍮: Served with fresh bananas and a scoop of banana ice cream, this dessert was indulgent yet light—a perfect ending to the meal.
